Joining on one of our popular day or two day guided kayak and cruise tours into Doubtful Sound. We cater for small, personal groups where you have time to relax and enjoy an intimate experience with nature.

Real Journeys
Milford Sound Kayak ex Te Anau
With an experienced guide and small group of kayakers you explore this spectacular fiord. Looking up at Mitre Peak and the sheer cliffs from water level is an amazing sight. Get up close to the thundering waterfalls and see wildlife - fur seals, the rare Fiordland crested penguin and sometimes dolphins.
As you paddle along the shoreline, view the rainforest in beautiful detail. We aim for around 4 hours of kayaking and if the afternoon breeze comes up, we'll raft the kayaks together and sail back - lots of fun!

Scenic Flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound. You will be met at the air field in Milford and taken out on the Sunriser Classic Sea Kayaking adventure, we then return you to the airfield for your return flight. This trip only operates during the winter months.

Stirling Sunriser ex Milford
These are stable sea kayaks and have a rudder system for steering by the person sitting in the back position. Paddling time on the fiord is 4 hrs, paddling with the wind to your back. Suitable for those with good water confidence and those looking of a combination of experiencing Milford and enjoying a more challenging adventure in wind n waves..
This exclusive paddle has a ratio of one guide to seven clients and utilizes our power boat M.V. Seaka. We power boat out through the waves to just above Stirling Falls. Launch the kayaks and paddle down beneath the falls under massive granite over hangs. Stopping for afternoon tea of Rosco's famous scroggin and hot juice. Viewing wildlife and the natural flora and fauna.

Sunriser Classic ex Milford Sound
Group size is a max of 8 people per guide in 4 double kayaks. These are stable sea kayaks and have a rudder system for steering by the person sitting in the back position. Paddling time on the fiord is 4 hrs at a relaxed pace suitable for everyone.
The guide will then group you together for any further briefing, then your adventure begins.
Paddle out from Deep Water Basin to the mouth of the Arthur river, continue on out into the fiord to Sinbad gulley and beneath mile high Mitre Peak. Cross to Harrison's Cove. Paddle down past penguin tree to Bowen Falls cross back to Arthur river and back to Deep Water Basin. (note we often do this trip in reverse.)
